He was the founding Executive Director of the Claremont Museum of Art in Claremont, Los Angeles County, California responsible for the completion, curatorial programming and staffing of this privately funded venture. Prior to this position he was the Executive Director of The Mexican Museum, San Francisco responsible for all aspects of museum operations, permanent collection acquisitions. He also has experience as a commercial gallery director. He is well-versed in contemporary art and art world business practices.
Further, he was Associate Director of ArtPadSF, a contemporary art fair where he was responsible for public programming and panel discussions. He has participated in several commercial gallery and museum panels related to contemporary art.

William has worked with hundreds of artists such as: Roberto Chavez, Brett Armory, Ching Ching Chen, Gustavo Ramos Rivera, Ahree Lee, Patssi Valdez, Linda Arreola, Tm Gratkowski, Suzan Woodruff, Allison Woods, Joseph Eads, Luis Delgado, Rufino Tamayo and others.
He has also worked with The Estates of Martin Ramirez, Lucienne Bloch, Nelson Rockefeller. He has collaborated with numerous museums and institutions including the Smithsonian Museum, The Vincent Price Museum, Orange County Center for Contemporary Art and others.
William has been a featured speaker at San Francisco’s Commonwealth Club and American Institute of Architecture and a featured panelist at several national conferences. He has appeared on PBS station KCET’s series California’s Gold hosted by Huell Howser, as well as other television and radio shows. William served on the City of Los Angeles (C.O.L.A.) Individual Artist Fellowships and NALAC Fund for the Arts panels – among others.
